Delivering NHS homes to support recruitment and retention
Our Role
Our CEO co-founded the NHS Homes Alliance and co-authored the ground-breaking white paper on NHS Key Working Housing alongside a group of forward-thinking collaborators.
The paper proposes an innovation solution to the numerous challenges facing housing delivery on NHS land including Capital Departmental Expenditure Limit (CDEL) and viability.
A Joint Ministerial Task Force (under the previous government) completed the policy work for a solution which is off government balance sheet, however the details have not been announced. This is now being incorporated into the infrastructure workstream of the NHS 10 year plan.
About the NHS Homes Alliance
The NHS Homes Alliance’s aim is to support the recruitment and retention challenges faced by NHS trusts across the country by using long-term capital to deliver quality, affordable homes on NHS Land.
The White Paper sets out the opportunity and the challenges for delivering homes on NHS land. The focus is on delivery of NHS Homes on NHS land, with NHS retaining ownership of land by using long-term patient capital to deliver enjoyable places to live and work.
